YUNGDEATHLIFE

The criminally yet nostalgic “YUNGDEATHLILLIFE” is the boys' 13th project, and as the title and album cover suggest, it compares their life of today to when they were kids.

The topics raised include: how they looked up to their idols and their expensive cars in “All My Life I’ve Wanted a Chevy” to eventually getting their new wheels after their newly found commercial success, but only to find themselves symbolically destroying the car in a symbol of their newly found fame still not securing them happiness in “I Ended up Driving the Camaro off the Causeway Bridge”.

It also features a track named “I Miss My Dead Friends”, where the title explains it all—it is dedicated to their dead friends from when they were younger. Growing up in the rough area of New Orleans all their lives, Ruby and $crim lost many companions, of who they both name in the track:

"Bitch I do this shit just for Jefe
Yeah, he told me make it happen then he died in that tragic car crash
And every time I think of that I’m flicking ashes…"

And in $crim’s verse:

"I do this shit for Dirt, so I ain’t got the time, ho"

The album itself was released on May 8, 2015 and features two collaborations: Masta Drag features in “Cerberus”, and Ohio rapper Rozz Dyliams in “Handzum $uicide”.

Released 8 May, 2015

BLACK $UICIDE SIDE B: $UICIDE HUSTLE

The 2nd project from the boys and Smurf following the first Black $uicide EP. It seemingly follows the three on a road trip, from referencing Gentilly in New Orleans in “Chilly Gentilly”, to “Its About A 6 Hour Drive”. This is explored further throughout the lyrics; Ruby’s verse in “Who’s Pills Are These? (What Bag Were They In?)” seemingly symbolically references this,

"I’m tired, been blowing on fire
I should get some sleep ‘cause tomorrow we driving
Ruby the pilot been pulled over twice"

And later on in his verse,

"Driving to Cali
Driving to Brooklyn
Driving to Texas
What’s going to be next for us?
Probably the prison—we tend not to listen"

Contrary to this, it starts off with a track dedicated to Gucci Mane on “Free Gucci”, referencing the rapper’s prison sentence of 183 days for illegal possession of a firearm.

Released 1 April, 2015
